Save Money on New UPVC Windows and Doors

The Budget 2014 Finance Bill provides for a Home Owners Renovation (HRI) Scheme which will run until the end of December 2015. The supply and fit of new UPVC windows and doors is eligible.

Tax relief will be offered in the form of a tax credit of 13.5% of all qualifying expenditure in relation to repair, renovation and improvement work. Below is a table of how much you could save on new UPVC windows and doors.

In order to qualify for this scheme there are a number of criteria that must be met.

  • The cost of work must be a minimum of €5,000 including VAT
  • Work exceeding €34,050 incl. VAT will be eligible for a maximum tax credit of €4,050
  • Work must take place between 25th October 2013 and 31st December 2015
  • The credit is payable over the two years following the year of work completion
  • Only tax compliant Window and Door Contractors are eligible under the scheme.
  • Owner occupiers of a principal private residence who are LPT tax compliant are eligible.
  • Tax credits can be claimed after the work to the property is complete, as long as the work commenced on or after the 25th October 2013 and be completed by end December 2015.
